Mr Gama agrees to act as Group Chief Executive for another three months

Dear colleagues,

We wish to advise that the Board of Directors has asked Mr Siyabonga Gama to act as our Group Chief Executive for a further three months, following his sterling efforts in steering the company since April.

This follows the Eskom Board’s decision, in consultation with the shareholder minister, to ask Mr Brian Molefe to extend his secondment as acting Chief Executive for a similar period.

We in the Board are happy to accede to the request and we would like to congratulate Siya and express our gratitude for his determination, passion and drive over the last quarter of the year. He ensured a smooth handover while maintaining our march forward.

It would be remiss of us not to commend the rest of the 60 000 colleagues at Transnet, under the leadership of his partners in Exco, for the unwavering support we have afforded Siya.

We wish to thank him for accepting the challenge and pledge that he is guaranteed the full support of the entire Transnet family.
